Window Makeover restores, repairs and replaces windows and doors for homeowners in Marietta, Georgia. Our shop is on Allgood Road, which means the bench where your sash gets rebuilt is in the same town as your house.
Marietta is a restoration town more than a replacement town, and that shapes how we quote. A good deal of what gets sold here as a window replacement is a repair job wearing a replacement price tag.
Why Marietta windows are usually worth saving
Marietta has two National Register historic districts within minutes of the shop. The Northwest Marietta Historic District covers roughly 230 acres of homes built between about 1838 and 1895, in Greek Revival, Plantation Plain and Late Victorian. The Whitlock Avenue Historic District runs about 82 acres and spans antebellum Greek Revival through Italianate, Queen Anne and Craftsman bungalows into the 1930s.
Windows from those eras were built out of dense old-growth pine and cypress, hung on cords and weights, and designed from the start to be taken apart and repaired. The wood is better than anything you can buy new, and the design assumes maintenance rather than disposal. That is why a sash that looks beyond hope on the outside is so often sound underneath.

There is a practical reason to check before you buy replacements, too. Homes in Marietta’s locally designated historic districts can be subject to design review, and swapping original wood windows for vinyl is often not approved. It is worth a call to the city before you commit either way.
What we do in Marietta
- Window restoration. Sash rebuilt, glazing replaced, cords and weights re-hung, so the window opens, closes and seals the way it was built to.
- Wood rot repair. Sills, rails and frames rebuilt in kind. Georgia humidity and heavy summer rain are hard on south- and west-facing wood.
- Foggy glass. Failed double-pane seals replaced without replacing the whole window.
- Hardware repair. Locks, balances, cranks and pulleys, including obsolete hardware we track down rather than give up on.
- Window replacement. When a window genuinely is past saving we replace it, and we will say so plainly rather than selling you a repair that will not hold.
- Door repair and replacement. Sticking doors, rotted bottom rails, failed thresholds, damaged door glass and frames.
